Web Design Project Phases
If you have an advanced website in mind, our Web Design to Order option is for you. Prices for
websites created under this option are custom quoted after a free consultation over the phone or
in-person. After we talk, we'll prepare a proposal with a price quote for you. Upon approval,
we'll get started on your site.
We have a standard procedure that we follow with all of our Web Design projects. If you're a new
or prospective client, here's what to expect:
- Consultation Phase
We'll work with you to define the goals that you want to achieve with your website
and how those goals would be met. Prior to your free consultation, we request that you fill out
our online Web Design Questionnaire.
- Proposal and Project Contract
After we've evaluated your requirements, we'll draft a one to two page proposal outlining
the scope of your project. Upon verbal approval, the terms of the proposal will be put into
a contract that both parties must sign. A minimum deposit of 25% of the project cost is required
up front.
- Drafting of Site Navigation Outline
We do a detailed analysis of the information that your website will contain and sketch a hierarchical
outline of how the pages in your site will be structured. Creating a solid site structure that takes
into account future additions is extremely important to the long term success of your website.
- Creation of Site Template(s)
One or more visual themes will be created. Mock-ups of how your website would look are created as
image files and are developed into HTML templates upon your approval.
- Production
Pages for your website are created based on the chosen site template(s). You'll be asked to
provide textual content to fill the various pages outlined in the Site Navigation Outline. We'll
edit your content as needed to best fit an online format and write copy to make your site more
cohesive. Any PHP or MySQL programming or Flash design work is performed in this phase.
- Feedback and Refinement
After the site is created, we'll go through and test it to make sure that it works the way we
intended it to work and touch up graphics and content. You will have the opportunity to provide
feedback and request minor changes to the finished product.
- Final Review
All touch-ups are done. We walk through the website in person or over the phone and complete the project.
- Webserver Management and Site Maintenance
If you plan to have an active website, we highly recommend subscribing to one of our site
management packages to have your site, promotional activities, and site updates managed
professionally.
